Apprenticeship Program
Iowa's Apprenticeship Program funds projects that increase the skills of workers through a combination of classroom and on-the-job training. The Iowa Department of Economic Development provides funding support for classroom and on-the-job training for workers in high-technology jobs, or jobs utilizing the most up-to-date technologies that are available in the workplace. For participating businesses, the advantages include more efficient production and greater profitability through valuable employee training.
Business Eligibility Requirements:
- Jobs for which classroom and on-the-job training is received must be high-technology jobs, or jobs utilizing the most up-to-date technologies that are available in the workplace.
- All apprenticeship projects funded through the Iowa Department of Economic Development must be approved by the federal Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.
- Application for this program must be made through a local community college.
